Frequently Asked Questions

What is Macho Mobile Storage?

Macho Mobile Storage is simply a self storage company that delivers storage units to you.  By delivering storage units directly to you, our goal is to eliminate many of the headaches encountered when using conventional self storage.  No truck rentals, no driving (for the customer) and storage units delivered directly to your door.

Is your storage facility secure?

Macho Mobile Storage makes every effort to maintain a secure facility.  The facility grounds are fenced and gated, doors remain locked when the facility is unattended and the entire property is well lit.  Additionally, an on-site resident helps to watch over the property.  With conventional storage methods, 90% of the break-ins that occur in their storage facilities are done by the actual tenants using the facility. Once the storage tenant signs in, they are then able to freely roam the facility and therefore, can easily cut off a storage lock without anyone every noticing.

We have a designated area where our storage tenants can load and unload their belongings from their storage unit. Therefore, nobody is able to freely roam our facilities where your storage unit will be secured.

Aside from the above mentioned, we also have multiple security cameras, a gated entrance so we can monitor who has entered and left the facility and we also have a staff member living right beside the facility.

What if I need assistance loading my container?

While we are not licensed to handle your personal belongings, Macho Mobile Storage may be able to recommend several companies or individuals who may help you.  Feel free to ask a Macho Mobile Storage representative for any suggestions.

Will my belongings move around in the storage container?

The storage containers are lifted straight up and placed straight down during the transportation process and in the warehouse setting. Our staff members are extremely cautious when moving any storage unit.

It is recommended you place heavier items on the bottom and load the lighter items on top. For extra protection, we suggest utilizing available packing materials such as bubble wrap and moving pads. A list of available moving and packing supplies can be found in our packing supplies section.

Are your storage rates competitive?

Should you find a better mobile storage rate anywhere in the DFW area, we'll beat that rate by 10%. To view our rates, please complete the online scheduling form. How many storage units will I need?

As a general rule of thumb, you will need one storage unit for every 1.5 rooms of goods or furniture.  If you are uncertain how much space you will need, speak to one of our service representatives and they'll help you decide.  We can always send an extra container.  You won't pay for an extra unless you use it.

What do I do when I'm ready to move out?

Simply call or email a Macho Mobile Storage representative and we'll work with you to schedule a time for delivery to your desired location.  Alternately, with just a little notice, you are welcome to visit our storage facility to retrieve your belongings in person.

Can I access my storage unit?

Tenants may access their stored goods in two different ways:  request delivery of your unit to your location or schedule a visit to the Macho Storage facility, where your unit will be waiting for you.  The Macho Storage facility is accessible to current tenants 7 days a week and on holidays, from 6am until 10pm, using your unique tenant access code.

To access your belongings at our location, please advise a Macho Mobile Storage service representative. We do request you provide us with 24 hours advance notice so that we are able to locate your storage container and place it in the designated access area.  If you have an emergency and need access unexpectedly, please call us and we'll work to accomodate you.

Is there a difference between office hours and access hours?

There is a difference.  Access hours are the hours current tenants can gain access to the facility or access their stored goods.  Office hours are the hours during which phones will be answered and Macho representatives will be on-site and at your service.

What should I do if I lose my key or access code?

During regular business hours, simply call one of the Macho service representatives, and we'll work to get you back up and running.

Am I required to purchase insurance to cover my stored goods?

No.  We are not an insurance company and we're not in business to sell over-priced insurance policies to our tenants.  Each tenant is responsible for their goods.  If insurance is something you'd like to have, many renter or homeowner policies allow the addition of self-storage to the insurance policy, often for very minimal cost.

Will I need to provide any documentation when renting a Macho Mobile Storage unit?

Yes.  As a protection to all of our tenants, Macho Mobile Storage requires a valid, U.S. government-issued form of identification (drivers' license, state ID or passport).

Do you have handcarts or dollies I can use at your storage facility?

Yes.  Macho offers complimentary use of our carts and dollies for your convenience.

If a portable self-storage unit is delivered to me, where will Macho Mobile Storage put it?

We'll try to place the unit in the area most convenient to you.  Units can be placed on driveways, in parking spaces, in yards and even in many parking garages.  As long as it's legal, we'll try to place the storage unit where you need it.

How long will the portable storage unit be left at my location after delivery?

Macho Mobile Storage will leave the unit with you for up to five days.  In some instances, longer terms are available.  If you require a longer rental term, ask one of our service representatives we'll work to accomodate you.

Do you have moving trucks available for customer use?

No we don't.  Macho Mobile Storage delivers self-storage to our customers, so there is no need for the extra time and expense a rental truck requires.

Is Macho Mobile Storage similar to self-storage?

In some ways, yes - renting self-storage from Macho Mobile Storage will save our tenants time and effort because customers only load the container once when moving in and unload once when moving out.  Most self-storage requires loading a vehicle at the customers place and unloading at the storage facility when moving in.  When moving out, most self-storage requires unloading the storage unit into a vehicle, and then unloading the vehicle upon arriving at some destination.
